The Blade asked us to develop a website that would 1) promote the Battle of the Bands competition, 2) allow bands to post information and songs online, and 3) let the public vote online to select their favorite band.

Goals Develop an interactive community for bands and the public, while creating a venue on which local promoters and clubs could advertise.
Research We led a discovery process meeting with the Blade Staff, researched other sites, and consulted with local promoters, talent, and musical instructors.
Audience Northwest Ohio and Blade readers, as well as participating musicians and their fans.
Results During its first three months online, 42,000 people visited the site; more than 10,000 votes were cast; and 413,844 page views were recorded. The site was also ranked as the 4th most popular link on the Toledo Blade website.
