WebArt was chosen to build a site where amateur models could sign up for this modeling competition, then create and maintain their own account by uploading images and information about themselves. We also needed to build a system that would allow the public to vote online for their favorite model.

Goals The three goals of the Toledo Runway Rivalry site were to 1) showcase local talent, 2) create a venue on which to sell banner ads, and 3) increase the traffic to the Toledo Blade website.

Results During the 7-day voting period alone the site attracted 42,897 unique visitors and generated 304,000 page views, 4.5 million hits, and more than 15,000 votes. The website was active from the week of June 21, 2009 to the week of August 16, 2009. Over that time, there were 90,000 unique visitors, 498,374 total page views, and 6.7 million hits. |
