Don Dottei Web Development Coordinator 419.724.7363 E-mail Don
Don followed a fairly unconventional path to WebArt. After a four-year tour with the United States Marines and various jobs, Don decided it was time to pursue a career he was passionate about. So, he went to school at age 47 to get his degree. Two, actually. In 2009, he was awarded an Associates Degree in Graphic Design and an Associates Degree in Web Support and Development from Davis College. Don and his wife Alice have been married since 1986 and have three children and a grandson.
Q&A with Don
What role do you play at WebArt? I am the Web Development Coordinator. I put together the code that “builds” our clients’ websites.
If someone wrote a biography about you, what would the title be? I would hope the title would be “A Good Man, Father and Husband.”
How do you stay creative? What inspires you? Family drives me, music inspires me, and code challenges me. The combination of all three keeps me wanting to expand my abilities.
In general, what makes a good website? To me, it’s navigation, navigation, navigation. If I go to a website and really have to hunt to find what I need, get lost along the way, or the page I want is 10 clicks deep, I won’t go back to the site.
What do you enjoy most about your work? For the first time in my long work history I really enjoy coming to work every day. I look forward to the challenges of the web. The work environment is exciting, my colleagues are great, and my boss inspires me.
